Underwood Farms

I got two heads of butter lettuce. Yum!
Went to the farm today! It was a dandy experience, indeed! I used to go here as a child and ride the ponies at the petting zoo, pick pumpkins, and ride on the hay ride. :) They have done some expanding and have made it look so cute! Whenever/ if I ever have children, I am bringing them to this farm so we can share the same memories of ponies and pumpkins. heh.
The farm is very conveniently placed down the street from my house, which makes having fresh fruits and veggies much common at home.

cielo drive

This photo was on Cielo Drive. Actually, if you go up Cielo Drive and stop before you hit Bella Drive (right), take the little drive way on your left hand side (across from bella) and go all the way up that driveway until you reach the gate. You will see a few houses/duplex's to the left as you go down the driveway. The gate is where the Manson family had cut the telephone wires, and this is where they, unfortunately, entered the Tate/Polanski property.

Sharon <3

Found these photos of Sharon online. She's such a beauty! Sharon Tate would be my ultimate fashion icon. Her and Marilyn. She was known for her mini skirts and was quoted saying if mini skirts were invented when she was in grade school, she would of had the shortest one! Sharon and I are both Aquarians, and I can sense that rebellious nature in us. She was one of the sweetest human beings on this planet, and I literally think of her everyday.

Jay Leno

I went on a date a few Sunday's ago. I arrived at this guys condo (I had gone out with him a few times already) to meet him before we went on a motorcycle ride. We left and drive through Simi and over the Santa Susana Pass (where the Manson family hide out in the late 60's) and over to Topanga Canyon.

photo cred: City-data.com
I made sure he did not go onto any freeways since it was basically my first time on a bike. We go to Topanga Cyn and turned right and went down the valley until we reached Mulholland drive. We took that over to the Rock Store, to take a break and look at all the motorcycles. Once I hopped off the bike, I walked around and noticed standing around in a group, Jay Leno. I went up to him and asked for a photo, which my date took.
Always carry your camera with you! hehe. It wasn't the first time I met Jay Leno, I met him once when I was a little girl and used to figure skate at Pickwick's off Riverside in Burbank, which is right down the street from the NBC studios where they filmed the late night show, as well as where they filmed Friends. :)

After the rock store, we went over to the beach and took photos and then got lunch at Neptune's Net which was yummy. We enjoyed a large fat tire, shrimp, crab cakes, fish and french fries. :P

It's been a while since I have blogged. I started school in August and have been super busy since. Working full time and taking 3 classes at school, as well as fitting room into having a social life. I like the feeling of not being bored though. I have more energy and feel like I am doing something in my life.
This semester I'm taking Extreme Aerobics, Writing and Reporting for media, and Photography. Haha, not too bad of a schedule to me!

I went out to jeckell's last night to watch The Atomik Kangaroo's play. Not many people showed up, but the guy I went out on Sunday with, did show up!
Krista invited me out to din with her and Blake after work yesterday, before the show. Krista and I ordered off the kids menu and blake drew penis's all over the menu's with the kid crayon's. Haha.
We got to the show and got some drinks.
Greg was already there, so we went up to him and had some drinks and enjoyed some live music! good times.

Picture of the Weekend

A lady at work on Friday was telling me a story about her wanting to be an actress back in the early 70's. She randomly told me that I remind her of SHARON TATE. I was so shocked and flattered! I told her that I was a fan and she replied saying she didn't think I would know who she was. I'm glad she mentioned it!

She also told me that I would make a great mother one day. What a lovely lady!

Santa Monica

Went to Santa Monica yesterday, which was a great time! I walked around Third Street Promenade and checked out H&M, Urban Outfitters, Zara, Club Monaco and Barns and Nobel. I bought a blue and white stripped skirt from Urban, and a red halter top from H&M. I also picked my mom up a little leather change purse from Club Monaco.

Found a lovely British shop with everything British. I got 2 bags of Walker potato chips and some English toffee for my father. Now that I know it's there, I will have to go back and stalk up on some goodies!

I walked over to the beach to snap some photos. The weather was beautiful this weekend, everyone was outside! The waves were humongous! Apparently, there is a storm off the coast somewhere and the waves have been extra big. So large in fact, there has been one fatality. There was also a great white shark sighting off the coast of Malibu the other day.

I got some lunch at Panera Bread, which was the half Chicken Frontega Panini and a bowl of French Onion soup. The Panini comes with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, chopped basil, red onions, chipotle mayonnaise, and of course smoked white chicken on a tasty Focaccia bread. It filled me up quite nicely!

I headed home after a few hours. Drove up the P.C.H (Pacific Coast Highway) to Malibu Canyon Drive which turns into Las Virgines Road.

I love my mama

This is my beautiful mother in 1973 when she was living in Poznan, Poland. Doesn't she look beautiful? Her style is timeless...I adore the mini dress and her four or five inch white heels.
She ended up leaving Poland when she was 23 years old to move to Canada with a pen pal. She met my father from a mutual friend in North Bay, Ontario and eventually moved out to Southern California where they had my brother and after some complications with my mother's uterus, she had me. :)

happy hour sunset yesterday

Cosmoprof and Marilyn

Ahhh, how I love Saturday's!! Me and the rest of humanity who works a Mon-Fri job. A beautiful day in southern California today. I woke up pretty early, which was actually very nice. I quickly took a shower and got ready. My mom and I went out to Cosmoprof to get a bottle of Biolage's colorcare conditioner for a coworker. I picked up Bed Head's new "Some Like It Hot" Heat & Humidity Resistant Serum which smells like coconuts!

My hair is very susceptable to chlorine so i got Malibu Wellness's Swimmer's after-swim solution. It removes chlorine and copper green. I also snatched a packet of the Power Protein Builder by Malibu wellness. Good stuff!
I normally stick with the weekly Blonde brightener treatment solution. :)

"EC Mode Malibu Blonde Weekly Brightener Treatment Solution is for all ages and hair types with natural or chemically treated blonde or highlighted hair. It protects and prolongs your hair color. This patented, fresh-dried vitamin complex dissolves into a gel in the palms of your hands.

This rich lathering treatment is specifically formulated for blond and highlighted hair. It brightens and increases the shine and vibrancy of your hair while helping to prevent damage from environmental elements in the air and water. "

I got home after a nice drive out to Burbank with my mom. We stopped and got some IN & OUT to go. Nothing cures a hangover like some dank In & Out! I watched Sex In 24 Seconds Per Frame, which is a documentary about sex in Hollywood. I ate my burger and fries and sipped on my diet coke, and then decided to look up some things on Ebay and Etsy. I bought the Memoirs of a Beatnik by Diana DePrima. Check out Michelle's post regarding this book from her blog Everything I Love is from '59.

After ordering that, I was looking for a good documentary on Marilyn, when I stumbled on these photos. A true beauty. Aren't these great? She's on the PCH in one or both of the photos. Doesn't she look amazing?

The Fourth Of July

It was a fabulous night with friends at Mary's house on the 4th of July. We bbq'd, drank, did jello shots, light off fireworks, have good conversations, go swimming, and play with doggies!

me, mary, shirley

Fat tire = my favorite beer

The night ended with us all in the spa. I woke up the next day with green hair and a bruised tailbone!!! haha!

The Vegas Strip summer of 2007.

Katie in Paris!

This summer would of been amazing to fly to Europe to get away from life and work for a few weeks...

..Fortunately, I know someone who did, so I can vicariously live through her! Hehe.

Her name is Katie Harlow. She for the first time ventured out to Europe for a two week course at Parson's school of Design in Paris, France. She left on the Fourth of July, which is ironic since it's her first independent abroad experience. Her first experience abroad a matter of fact! Today she visited Champs de
Lycees, where they went around taking photos. She wrote saying that
"The Champs
de Lycees is huge!! So many stores, beautiful gardens and GORGEOUS monuments. You would LOVE it!".

So far she has visited Luxembourg Gardens, Latin Quarter where the
Panthenon is, Montmartre in Northern Paris (where the Moulin Rouge is), Fashion district, and a neighborhood in Paris called Hotel de Ville.

She writes abo
ut the fashion, "The fashion is so great here! Everyone dresses up which is awesome. I have yet to see someone walking around in sweats and tennis shoes."

It's true! When I ventured off by myself to the great unknown (England and Wales) last summer, I was amazed at how nicely everyone dresses. Very impressive! When I got back to L.A, all I saw were girls wearing their Victoria Secret PINK sweatpants. There is a definite difference between LA and London fashion wise. They take risks and we don't.

This weekend she ventures off to Versailles and Charter.

A party at Mary's a few weeks ago.
Time to make some cookies for tonight!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Happy 4th of July everyone!
The town I live in celebrates the 4th of July on the 3rd (such a small town, we need to draw a crowd somehow, so opting for the day before attracts more poeple to our town), so last night I got to see some great fireworks!
I actually fell asleep while waiting for the sun to go down, so I could drive over to Mary's and watch them. I woke up to to big bangs from the fireworks, and quickly rushed over to her house. I got there and caught a good 10 minutes of them and the finale, which is always the best!
Tonight is the 4th of July party. I will be dressed in all red, Shirley in all blue and Mary in all white. :)

Copy cat

While at work today, I was browsing on Forever 21 when i stumbled upon this Navy Blue dress. If you ask me, it looks exactly like the Miss Selfridge dress from last season. Check it out yourself. The blue is the copy and the Pink is the original.

Exactly alike minus the material and the layered effect on the Miss Selfridge dress.

San Fernando/LA

Getting out of Ventura County and heading into Los Angeles County is always a nice change. From the suburbs to the city, we made our way Sherman Oaks, which is about a 25 minute drive. We stopped at Buffalo Exchange and searched through the store, like kids in a candy store! I sold a pair of BCD jeans and a UO top, which I took the 50% store credit, rather then the 35% cash. I found a cute white loose top with a b&w photo of hippies at woodstock 69. I am almost positive this is TOP SHOP. I then found a lovely leopard button up blouse from Forever and a purple leopard sweater from HM, which I have in red. I only paid $17 for everything.
After spending about a hour there, we left and got on the 101fwy and exited Tujuanga Blvd. Made a left and another left at Dilling, where we arrived to the famous Brady Bunch House. The Brady Bunch was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and when I found out that the real house was located in North Hollywood, we decided to check it out!

We got lunch @ Panera Bread on the corner of Laurel Canyon and Ventura. It was very yummy. We walked down a few blocks to Crossroads and browsed around. Crossroads is a fabulous store with used name brand clothing for cheap. You can also sell back as well.
Took Beverly Glen, to Mullholland , to Benedict Canyon to Sunset. This is at the top of Mullholland looking down at the San Fernando Valley.
Off Benedict Canyon is Cielo Drive. This is the old Tate property where the Manson Murders took place. The original house is now demolished and was actually located a lil bit below this now new mansion called the Bella Villa, owned by a hot shot Hollywood producer. This hot shot, Jeff Franklin (producer of Full House) was having a party yesterday. If only we had an invitation! Imagine the views!
My friend's dad actually grew up in the house below the old Tate property. He was just 15 at the time, but his dad (my friends grandpa) called the cops the morning (I'm guessing midnight-1am-ish) of August 9th, 1969, notifying them of a party getting out of control at the Tate residence. Well, the cops showed up at my friend's dad's house, who then told the police that it is theTate house he needs to check out. They never did. The next morning, the hosuekeeper found the 5 victims dead inside and outside the house on Cielo Drive.

Marilyn Day Part 2

After driving from the valley out to Brentwood to visit MM's house, and a stop at the Pierce Brother's Memorial Center, we were a bit exhausted and needed to re-energize ourselves. We decided on Jerry's Deli after cruising around Westwood. Westwood is where the UCLA campus is located, about 15-20 minutes west of LA and 5 minutes west of Hollywood. It's a great college campus and a superb party town!

After Jerry's, we headed over to Sunset and made our next destination...and the last stop of the Marilyn Day. The Beverly Hills Hotel. *MM bungalow 21A*

The top balcony is where she lived for a year of her life.

We decided on a stop @ the famous Polo Lounge in the BHH for a cocktail. What a beautiful place it is, and the amazing staff is a bonus!
At the pool side cabana looking at the back of the hotel.
Katie and the Ian Zeiring look-a-like from NYC.
Livin' it up in the bathroom. Really, I could live in this bathroom. Absolutely amazing and clean. A+
Staff members = A+

We left the hotel around 10PM, and headed for the valley. My friend was DJing that night at Smile's Night Club in Sherman Oaks, and we decided to check it out. Good times.
